How Designhey started
Designhey is run by Lokesh Kapoor. He started his career as a content writer, moved into digital marketing, and picked up a broad set of skills along the way. He also runs DroidCrunch, a popular tech blog, and makes tutorials and technology videos on YouTube.
Over the years Lokesh worked with some of the industry’s leading online companies. That work left him with a real love for graphic tools, SEO platforms, and sales software, and in 2021 it led him to start Designhey.
What began as a blog about design tools has grown into a library of 80+ software reviews and 45+ guides, written by a small team of contributors. The goal hasn’t changed: share what we learn so you can choose software with less guesswork.
Milestones
2021
Designhey launches as a blog about design skills, design tools, and online software.
2022
Our first in-depth software review goes live.
2023
SEO tools join the lineup, with reviews of Surfer SEO, Rank Math, and Scalenut.
2025
The review library passes 80 tools, from Notion and Canva to CapCut and ElevenLabs.
How we review software
Designhey reviews follow the same five steps. It keeps them consistent, so you can compare one tool with another on equal terms.
Research the product
We start with the vendor’s documentation, feature pages, and pricing, and, where it’s available, what users say on review platforms like G2.
Use it ourselves
We sign up, work through the main features, and capture our own screenshots so you can see the product as it really looks.
Score each feature
Core features such as ease of use, support, and pricing each get a rating out of 5, alongside an overall score.
Break down the pricing
We list each plan and what it includes, so you can judge a tool’s value and not just its headline price.
Give a clear verdict
Reviews end with pros and cons, alternatives worth a look, and the kind of user each tool suits best.
How Designhey makes money
Designhey is free to read. Like most review sites, we earn money in two ways.
Affiliate links. Some links on the site are affiliate links. If you click one and buy, the vendor may pay us a commission. You pay the same price either way.
Advertising. Software companies can work with us on advertising and sponsored content. Email hello@lokeshkapoor.com for details.

- Our reviews cover the downsides, not just the highlights.
- Reviews carry the name of the writer who wrote them.
